Kakamega County is a major sugarcane-producing region in Kenya, contributing significantly to the nation's agricultural economy. However, the environmental impact of sugarcane cultivation, particularly concerning carbon emissions and biomass utilization, has been a growing concern. This cutting-edge project aims to address this challenge by leveraging the power of Earth Observation (EO) data, geospatial technologies, and climatic modeling to monitor and quantify carbon stocks, above-ground biomass (AGB), and climatic conditions in sugarcane fields.
